Fairlee, VT

Courtney and Dylan were another one of my 2020 couples who, although they moved their original date from June 20th, still wanted to get married and celebrate this year! They changed their date to August 15th and I am so happy that one, I still had that date available and two, that they still chose to have their special day despite the change of plans thrown their way.

When I first arrived at Courtney's parent's house in Fairlee, I noticed the beautiful tent which, is where I started my day of coverage. One of my favorite parts to photograph of the wedding is all of the details that make up the day. Courtney did a beautiful job at decorating the tent for their reception. The tables and chairs were beautiful and her décor fit her personality fabulously. I especially loved the idea of filling a canoe with ice to use as a gigantic cooler for all of the beverages. It sat underneath a beautiful tree next to an inlet of Lake Fairlee. It was a beautiful location for a small, backyard wedding!

My jaw dropped when I saw Courtney's dress for the first time - it was insanely gorgeous! The beaded mermaid-like top and the tulle bottom was a fairytale dress, and it fit her perfectly and was definitely made for her. She looked absolutely stunning! After her and her bridesmaids got dressed we headed to the church where her and Dylan were getting married. This was only my second wedding I have ever photographed in a church and I think I have a new found love for church ceremonies.

The day went perfectly - beautiful weather, a great group of people celebrating the two of them, and of course Courtney and Dylan were lots of fun to work with! I would like to dedicate this blog to their friend Jackson, who was one of Dylan's groomsmen as well as one of Courtney's best friends, who passed away shortly after the wedding. I am so happy that he was able to witness his two best friends become husband and wife.
