Tempson Barn - Lyndonville, VT

This was by far one of the most fun weddings I had the honor of photographing last year. I was so excited when Alyssa reached out to me asking if I would photograph her and Sheri's wedding day. I first met Alyssa in elementary school when we used to play basketball against each other, and then I was lucky enough to play on the same AAU team with her when we were in 8th grade. She was always a phenomenal athlete, and continued her passion after high school and went on to coach softball, and is currently one of the women's softball coaches for Princeton University. Alyssa and Sheri's love for softball is how they met and what is what brought them together in the beginning.

We weren't able to get together for an engagement session because Alyssa and Sheri lived in Chicago at the time. We met up a couple of days before their wedding and grabbed a pizza and went over the timeline and schedule for the day. It was my first time meeting Sheri and both of them were in great spirits. They mentioned all of the DIY projects that had left to finish in the following days but didn't seem stressed or overwhelmed.

The girls bouquets and Alyssa's boutonniere were all hand made out of both of their favorite book pages - Harry Potter! They each wore custom made Converse sneakers that had the pride rainbow colors on the bottom. Sheri's were white and Alyssa's were a dark navy blue - the same colors as her bridesmaids' dresses. Sheri's bridesmaids dresses were some of my favorite from the 2019 wedding season. The color was the same for each dress (a pastel-like green), yet each girl had a different style.

The day of the wedding came and it was a beautiful September day.. Each of them were getting ready at condo's up near Burke Mountain, and they took separate limos up to Darling Hill where we did their first look at The Stepping Stones Inn. I rode in Sheri's limo with her and her bridesmaids and got some fun shots of the girls in the limo. This wedding was also the largest bridal party I have ever photographed, with a total of 17 people (including two of Alyssa's brothers.)

The day went off without a hitch and there were so many friends and family there to celebrate. It was so beautiful to witness the two of them becoming one. I wish these two nothing but a lifetime of love and happiness.
