The Dowd's Country Inn - Lyme, NH

On October 19th, 2019 I made my way south to photograph my very last wedding of the year. I was so excited because not only was my frend Andraya second shooting for me, Liz and Shane are one of the sweetest and most down to Earth couples I have ever had the pleasure of meeting and working with! I just knew it was going to be a laid back and beautiful day.

I first met Shane and Liz last December when I shot their engagement session at The Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe, Vermont. If I remember correctly, it was a sunny and very cold day, but the two of them didn't seem phased. I could just tell they were so in love and so happy to be engaged and ready to start this next chapter in their lives.

Fast forward to nearly a year later, it was finally their wedding day! But this wasn't my first time seeing them since their engagement session, as Liz was a bridesmaid in two other weddings I had the honor of photographing this year. Shane was always the sweetest guy, reassuring me what a great job I was doing and really lifting my spirits (he was also a groomsmen in one of the weddings as well), and Liz was always checking in on me and asking me if she could get me anything! They really are some of the nicest people I have ever met.

It was a beautiful fall day, the air was a tad brisk but not too chilly. The glow of the orange and yellow leaves on the venue property made for warm and incredible color tones throughout the whole day. When I arrived, Liz was getting her make up done and was in great spirits. When I checked in with Shane, he was a calm as a clam (is that how the saying goes?), but warned me that he was going to cry (and make everyone else cry as well!)

One of my favorite details of their day were the colors of the bridesmaids dresses. They had a total of 9 bridesmaids and 8 groomsmen, which makes for a huge bridal party (one of my favorite things to photograph), and Liz's vision came to life with the four different colored bridesmaids dresses that complimented each other so well.

Once it was time for Liz to get dressed, she wanted it to be just her and her mother and aunt, and she wanted to not only do a first look with Shane, but with her bridesmaids as well. Once she was ready, we gathered the girls on the porch in their light blue robes, and waited for Liz to make her reveal! Once the girls had seen her, it was time to get Shane and take him down to the spot where we did their first look.

Both Liz and Shane cried happy tears once seeing each other - it was such a beautiful moment between the two of them. The ceremony was even more tearful as Shane had the most tender and loving vows for Liz. I don't know if there was one dry eye left - including me!

The rest of the day and night was full of love, laughter and fun. I have not witnessed such a genuine and incredible love before. I can only hope that I am lucky enough to share a love like theirs with someone one day. I will always remember this amazing day with this beautiful couple. I am so honored that they chose me to be the one to capture their love story.

Side note: I probably went a little overboard with the pictures I shared here, but this is still only a snap shot of their entire gallery! I hope you enjoy my first ever blog!
